The first model of the flammable flamethrower ROKS-1 was developed in the USSR in the early 1930s.
At the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, as part of the infantry regiments of the Red Army, there were flamethrower teams consisting of two branches armed with 20 knapsack flames of the Roks-2.
The Roks-3 rifle flamethrowers were in service with the Soviet Army until the early 1950s, after which they were replaced by more advanced light infantry flamethrowers LPO-50.
